Vibe Coding Health Pack — MacFart now tells the truth about what's eating your Mac, not just RAM.
Swap monitor. Live swap readout in the menu-bar popover (8.8 / 9.2 GB (95%)). Swap above 70% triggers the same fart + banner cadence as RAM pressure, with a plain-language explainer on tap.
Ghost process tagging. Top Consumers show process age (alive 1d 15h) and flag long-lived Electron helpers (Cursor Helper, Claude Helper, etc.) whose parent app has no visible windows — the "closed the window, memory didn't leave" pattern.
AI Tool Check (opt-in panel). Scans known AI-coding-tool data directories — Cursor chat DB, Claude Code, VS Code — and reports what's actually eating disk. Only reads sizes, never contents. Full Disk Access is requested only when you open this panel, never at launch.
Back up & Clear moves bloated chat databases to the Trash (never permanent delete). Requires the target app to be fully quit first.
Export chat history dumps SQLite rows to a local text file before clearing, for users who want the history without the disk cost.

Choose MacFart or RAM Monitor after purchase. Same license — pick full MacFart (farts + pranks) or sober RAM Monitor (swap, ghosts, storage scan, no farts). Switch anytime in Settings → Theme → App identity.
Per-tab browser memory breakdown. "Google Chrome is using 8.2 GB" was never the useful answer, because the cause is usually one runaway tab out of forty. Expand any Chromium browser in the Free RAM window and MacFart lists the individual tabs, extensions, subframes and service workers behind it, each with its exact memory.
Discard frees a tab's memory instantly. The tab stays in the tab strip and reloads when you click it.
Close shuts a tab properly through the browser, so unsaved-changes prompts still run. Needs Automation permission, asked for the first time you use it.
Works with Chrome, Brave, Edge, Vivaldi, Opera, Chromium and other forks that ship a Task Manager window. Browsers are detected at runtime, so an unlisted fork works too if it exposes one.
Tabs sharing a process are labelled as such, because discarding one takes the whole group down with it.
Extension service workers now show up by name. They are a common and almost invisible source of heavy memory use.

Process scanning takes a single ps snapshot shared between the app list and the tab breakdown, so a tab's memory always adds up against its parent app.

Notes

AI Tool Check needs Full Disk Access. MacFart asks only when you open that panel, never at launch, and reads folder sizes only — never chat contents.
Reading tabs needs Accessibility permission. MacFart asks the first time you tap "Find the tab", never at launch, and uses it only to read the browser's own Task Manager window.
A scan takes about 5 to 15 seconds depending on how many tabs are open, and the browser's Task Manager window is visible while it runs. Tabs stream into the list as they are found, heaviest first, so the culprit usually shows up within a couple of seconds.
Safari is not supported. macOS provides no public way to map a Safari web process back to the tab that owns it, so Safari keeps a single combined row. Firefox has no equivalent window and is likewise unsupported.
